CE Marking

CE Marking demonstrates compliance with the appropriate manufacturing standard for a product.  As a symbol, it will be familiar as it has been a requirement for some years now on products such as toys and electrical goods.

On 1st July 2014, CE Marking for structural steel to BS EN 1090-1 became a legal requirement for products sold within the E.U.  Therefore anyone designing and/or manufacturing steel frames or steel components for the European market, including the UK, must comply.

To achieve certification, TOT Technical has demonstrated compliance to BS EN 1090-1: 2009+A1: 2011.  The standard explains that all structural steel is safety critical and therefore all manufacturing must be carried out in a controlled manner.  TOT Technical implemented a factory production control system and can produce a declaration of performance certificate for material that we supply.  TOT Technical has been certified by BM Trada EU and comply to Exc 2, which covers residential or commercial structures and agricultural buildings.
